So, a couple former co-workers of ours called us to take some family photos. 2 Grandparents, the 3 daughters (with spouses) and 7 grandchildren. Thankfully we started at 9am, because it turned into one of those brutally hot, humid days not long after we finished with photos.
Getting a shot with Grandma and Grandpa with all of the grandchildren was a bit of a challenge. Figuring out who needed to be held and who should hold who’s hand and who didn’t want to hold so-and-so’s hand and so forth meant we have number of these kinds of shots. I think they are still pretty cute and they definitely represent the dynamics at play.
I decided to stick with the walking together theme for the individual families as it helped keep the kids a little more interested.
The two on the ends, Allison and Angela, are twins in case you are wondering and used to work for Best of Times back in the day. Stephanie, in the middle, is no stranger to photography either and has loaned us her Canon 70-200mm f2.8 a few times here and there when we have needed an extra. (Thanks Steph!)
Again, I stayed with the ‘keep moving’ idea for some individual shots of the grandkids. It was starting to get hot and we had been at it a while, not to mention we were within throwing distance of a playground and that was definitely something they would rather have been doing I think. Who can blame them?
I noticed some of the kids balancing on the curb, so we took some photos of them doing that and them skipping down the sidewalk. They didn’t forget about the park, but it did distract them enough to squeeze some fun shots out before I left.
Some of my ideas were met with a little bit of skepticism.
Oh hey! Don’t forget about this guy! He is only 3 1/2 months old and his hair is already this long. I couldn’t get over that.
Anyhow, I had a good time and hope everyone else did too. It was great to see the twins and the rest of their family. Thanks to everyone for letting us take your family photos!
Until next time,
